Directions

1.
Cook the Pasta
Start by cooking your pasta. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserve a cup of pasta water for later and set aside.
In the meantime, clean the shrimp, pat dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink, usually about 2 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

So Good!
Using the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, roughly 1 minute. Stir in red chili flakes. Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce.
Finally, return the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss well, adding the reserved pasta water bit by bit as necessary to create a silky, glossy sauce that coats the pasta. Stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice and adjust seasoning as needed. To finish, sprinkle your Lemon Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Pasta with chopped parsley and shredded parmesan. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes
Shrimp cook quickly, so make sure to remove them from the pan as soon as they turn pink to avoid them becoming rubbery.
Higher quality pasta usually has a rougher texture which helps the sauce stick to it better, resulting in a tastier dish.
Don't forget to keep some pasta water aside before draining. It's starchy and salty, making it perfect for creating a glossy sauce that clings to the pasta.
If you're not a fan of heat, feel free to reduce or omit the red chili flakes. Alternatively, if you love a spicy kick, feel free to add more.
Leftover Lemon Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Pasta can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
