Dough preparation
First, mix the ground flaxseeds with water and set aside to thicken. Place the almond butter, coconut sugar, oil, cocoa powder and baking powder in a large bowl and make a compact mixture. Once your flax seeds have thickened, add them to the batter and incorporate them thoroughly. I recommend putting the prepared dough in the fridge for about 1 hour.

Bake the crinkles
Form the chilled dough into balls and roll them in powdered sugar. The powdered sugar will dry the dough on the surface and create the desired texture, so don't spare it. Place the cookies on a parchment lined baking sheet and press down the tops slightly. You can add more powdered sugar on top before baking. Bake at 180°C for 15 minutes, or until they have spread and cracked.

Crinkles are known for their cracked tops due to their powdered sugar coating, but this structure can also be achieved with granulated sugar or cocoa powder.
